Club members pick prizes at sports meet

14 Jan 2012: Club members won several first and second prizes at the District sports meet held at Central Stadium, Trivandrum. Club congratulates all the winners and participants. Winners are Ylg. Sandra Prasad (First Prizes in Shot Put and Lemon & Spoon, and Second Prize in 50m running race), Yamuna Prasad (Second Prize in Aiming the Target), and Jenymol Roy (Second Prize in Book Balancing).

Christmas Meeting: Visit by District Team

22 Dec 2011: District Governor Ym. J Jayakumar, District Secretary Ym. Prasanth Frederick and District Treasurer Ym. JR Salu visited the club at the Christmas meeting held at the residence of Ym. PC Thomas and Ymt. Saramma Thomas. Special guests on the occasion were Ym. Thomas Mathew, President of YMC Trivandrum North, and Yw. Nisha, President of YMC Trivandrum Queens, accompanied by her husband Mr. Sanal Kumar.

Nisha delivered a talk on Thinking Success. Eleven Y's families from the club attended the meeting. The dinner was hosted by Ym. PC Thomas and Ymt. Saramma Thomas.

Achuthan and Mallika host Nov Meeting

26 Nov 2011: Ym Achuthan, Ymt. Mallika, their daughter Vidya, son-in-law Nandan and little Ammu (Aparna) hosted the Nov meeting at their residence at Nediyavila Lane, Vazhottukonam, Vattiyoorkavu. Photos.

Club comes second in District Cultural Meet

07 Nov 2011: In an actively participated District Cultural Meet at YMCA, Trivandrum, YMC Vattiyoorkavu came second, losing its several years' top position to the District Governor's home club, YMC Trivandrum North.

Among the prize winning performances from the club were a group song by Dr. Joshua and team (photo above), couple song by Dr. Joshua and Geetha, light music by Geetha (again), spot wearing of saree by Roy Paul, Elocution by Twinkle, recitation by Ganga, Sandra, Twinkle, and Merin, elocution by Merin, and fancy dress and light music by Irene Roy. Club member and Y's Menettes' President, Ymt. Lekha Satheesh had organised the cultural meet in her capacity as DSD (Culture), actively supported by other club members and members of the District team.

Meeting at the Residence of Paul, Soya

16 Oct 2011: Paul and Soya hosted the club's October meeting with exotic delicacies and variety entertainment by kids. The spacious open area in front of their house with a lake in the middle excited the lings to engage in some outdoor adventure and games as elders settled down to other niceties. Photos.

Ganga, Sanjana, Santwana perform dance item at District New Year

22 Jan 2012: Y's Lings Ganga, Sanjana and Santwana entertained the audience with a dance number at the New Year celebrations at YMCA jointly organised by Trivandrum YMCA and Y's Men Zone 1.

PC Thomas to receive award from the President of India

Club is proud of its member Ym. PC Thomas who will receive a meritorious Award for performance from the President of India on 2 Jan 2012 at Sriharikota. Congratulations, PC.

Lekha's brother passes away

27 Nov 2011, 6pm: Mr. Mohan (49), brother of Ymt. Lekha Satheesh, passed away at Govindan's Hospital, Trivandrum. He had been hospitalized for nearly two months and was under treatment for over an year following a stroke in Oct 2010. Several club members visited Mohan's house and expressed their grief on the bereavement.
